A volte tornano ricordi

All’inizio del 1980 lavoravo come elettromeccanico in una ditta Svizzera del settore coinvolta da sempre anche a livello internazionale. Capitava che il direttore della succursale in cui lavoravo ci chiedesse la nostra disponibilità a lavorare la domenica: lavoro nero a 50.-/ora.
Un venerdì ci propose uno di questi lavori per la domenica successiva: sistemi per carri armati francesi (sicuramente tutto in regola con leggi e autorità). Il mio rifiuto suscitò derisione, ilarità e incomprensione da parte dei miei colleghi.
Anche nel nostro bel Ticino e tra la nostra brava gente quanti imprenditori, ingenieri, quadri intermedi, amministratori e operai in tutti questi anni hanno chiuso gli occhi per il loro benestare? Quanti hanno contribuito a trasformare il pianeta in questa Santabarbara che stà sterminando vittime innocenti?
La domenica mattina, prima di recarsi alla santa messa, il direttore si presentava, con la famigliola, per verificare se tutti erano presenti al lavoro.
La stessa ditta per il centenario della sua fondazione pubblicò un libro dove, tra altre notizie, sottolineava anche di aver mantenuto tutti i posti di lavoro durante il secondo conflitto mondiale elettrificando i campi di concentramento nazisti.
Le parole di Papa Francesco non giugeranno mai in tempo fintanto che non cambieremo il nostro tenore di vita; come afferma l’amico Serge Latouche: “ o decrescita o barbarie”.
